Author's Notes.

I chose the title "The Real Titanic", because I wanted to portray a sense of Authenticity.  The story behind Titanic is one of ambition, courage and determination, a story that should, when told, immerse the listener in a time when Man strived to break through the barriers of technology, in a vain attempt to build an object that would surpass anything possibly imagined.

It is often stated, that once you learn about Titanic, your fascination with her never ends. Each one of us has our own reasons for showing an interest. Mine began at the age of 5, when I first moved to Stoke-on-Trent, (The home town of Captain Edward J. Smith). It's the thought that Titanic meant so much to so many different people, and how it touched the hearts of millions around the Globe. To her designers she was the ultimate challenge, for some of her passengers, a means of transport to their new lives in America, and for her Captain, one final journey before retirement from an impeccable  career at sea.

My hopes for this site, are that whilst reading, you learn something from the information, and, hopefully, your fascination with Titanic will begin!.

Site Construction.

Within this site you will find information that I have collected from a number of sources (See Research), information which I have gradually pieced together to tell the fascinating story of the World's largest liner.

The site itself is compiled of 52 pages, (at time of publishing), not all of which are accessible from the Home page. You will find a number of interesting articles that are Only accessible through their "Parent pages", ( i.e. Introduction, Crew list, E.J. Smith, Tribute etc), making the navigation of the site much more interesting. So, to benefit from it's construction be sure to follow every hyperlink that you see!

Adding the Finishing Touches !

Best Wishes.......C.A. Uttley.
